Medium voltage shear head bolted connectors and lugs up to 42 kV

Medium voltage mechanical connectors with shear head bolt. Simel BSM (BSMU/BSMB families (the character „M” at the third position refers to medium voltage application)

- application range: 10 mm²…1000 mm². Cross section range between 25mm²…400 mm² can be covered by only 3 size.
- due to the compact design they can be used in almost every medium voltage joint (they are shorter than a crimping sleeve, that’s why the insulation tubing in a medium voltage joint can cover it).
- the smooth edges at the end of the connectors is ideal to reduce the electrical stress and the partial discharges, which is important at medium voltage application.
- they are applicable in low voltage joints as well.
- connector body is made of alu alloy with tinned surface, the inside is grooved with contact grease. The shear head bolts have hexagonal head and they are weakened at two places, it provides a big cross section range take with an optimal shearing of the screw.
- they are orderable with blocking wall (blind hole) (designation BSM, BSMB) or without blocking wall (designation BSMU).
- reduction sleeves have got two different cross section range at their ends. So they can connect even a very small and a very big cross section cables to each other.
- repairing sleeves for repair joints are also available. They can replace even a longer damaged cable core.
- they fulfill test standard IEC 61238-1.
