TE Connectivity – Raychem medium voltage cable accessories
Medium voltage cable accessories are the products that work between under voltage 1 kV…42 kV.
Raychem -who invented the cross-linking process- has been developing the heat-shrinkable components for 60 years, like heat-shrinkable tubings, sealing breakouts, wraparounds, end-caps, sealing mastic, electrical stress control materials and tapes. Then Raychem developed "ready for application" products of these components, that solve all the connection demands at the connection of medium voltage power cables. These products fulfill all the relevant medium voltage type testing IEC and CENELEC standards.
Raychem was the pioneer at developing mechanical connectors and utilizing them in medium voltage products. This combination of the plastic and metal parts by one manufacturer results a „ready to use” solution for our customers, in case of either connnecting or end-sealing of a medium voltage cable.
The silicon rubber as an elastomeric insulation material in high-voltage applications has penetrated to medium voltage applications. So besides the traditional heat-shrinking products these elastomeric material has appeared in cold-shrink or cold-applied cable accessories. If the application or the utilities require a technology without flame, these joints or terminations are available in the assortment of Raychem.
Medium voltage cable accessories:
Heat-shrinking cable joints with or without shear head bolted mechanical connector for polymeric or oil-paper insulated cables, or as a transition joints between these cables.
Heat-shrinking transition cable joints between 1-core and 3-core cables or between screened and unscreened cables.
Cold-shrinking cable joints with or without shear head bolted mechanical connector for polymeric insulated cables.
Single core live-end seal (voltage withstand stop end) products.
Special flexible, flame retardant joints for rubber insulated cables for e.g. mining applications.
Medium voltage branch joints („Y joints”) for polymeric insulated cables with screening.
Repair joints with a long sleeve or two connectors for a cable fault.
Heat-shrinking indoor or outdoor cable terminations with or without mechanical lug for polymeric or oil-paper insulated cables.
Cold-applied or cold-shrinking indoor and outdoor cable terminations with or without mechanical lug for single-core polymeric insulated cables.
Heat-shrinking indoor or outdoor cable terminations with or without mechanical lug for flexible, multi-core, rubber insulated cables.
Heat-shrinking indoor or outdoor cable terminations with or without mechanical lug unscreened cables e.g. for motor connection.
